Daily check in

Daily check in....

B: $0
L: $0 (the filing clerk Joel did me a solid and brought me left over KFC)
D: $25 (meeting my mom for dinner tonight)

Gas is getting bruuTAL. I drive so much for this job and still only get compensated the same flat rate as when I started and gas prices were a dollar less a gallon. I have an impending meeting with my boss in the near future to talk raise and stipend bump. I have never asked for a raise before...so to say I am a bit nervous is an understatement.

Checking back in

Well I am back, after a couple month hiatus from this blog. I would like to say the reason I have not written was due to my recent wedding and honeymoon but really I think it was just simple lethargy.

In any event, the wedding was amazing and went off with all but one hitch. The honeymoon was equally awesome but unfortunately was also awesomely expensive. It was worth it though.

Reality now beckons and I realize I need to get back on financial track in a number of departments. What better way to do this than to begin blogging again and reinstating my neurotic daily expenditure tallies?

With that in mind.

B: $0
L: $0 (Chili)
D: $0 (Left over pasta)

I also intend to write an article in the very near future concerning the best investment vehicle for a lump sum of money with a 2-3 year time horizon. Lacey and I were fortunate enough to accumulate a nice chunk of change to put towards the down payment of our next house. However, when we pondered where to transfer the money....we were at a bit of a loss. We've settled on a "high interest" savings account at E-Trade. I will explain my reasons for this decision in an upcoming entry and hopefully discover a better option in the process.
