Breakfast (1)
Lunch (5) Appollo Cafe sandwich...not a bad new alternative.
Dinner (3) Uncle Sam's split sub with Lacey.
Alcohol (8) 6 pack Bud Light for poker
Misc. (2) ATM transaction fee because every atm from my bank was out of funds. This probably does not bode well for a bank. By the time I was denied for the third time from my bank's ATMs in the same day, I had visions of George Bailey talking down the hysterical depression masses from the gates of Bailey Savings and Loan. Does Citizen's have a Mr. Potter to answer to?
Poker (+110) Ship it...I ran grossly hot and didn't make too many mistakes.
Total: +91...123 ahead of budget.
It's the little things in life that make life. I was very stressed out yesterday evening with the spectre of Monday trial haunting me and the annoyance of having to work throughout the weekend. After work I was in a bit of a funk. Then Lacey and I went out to a very cheap dinner at Uncle Sam's a local sub shop. There was hardly anyone there, I picked up a six pack for poker and split a bud light pounder with lacey over a sub we split. It was great. The two of us sitting eating and drinking happily excited to go play cards with our friends and even more excited to spend time with each other. And to think, this great moment in life only cost me about $4. Can you beat that? I would argue no, unless it was possible to get our sub for free ;) But seriously, there is so much hustle and bustle and I often find myself stressed, looking down the road and feeling uncertain and worred and AGGHHH. I feel like when you get super stressed and freaked out you are also more inclined to find some way to distract yourself. For a lot of people that means spending money on a distraction. For others, that means drinking excessively or worse. Granted, my perfect story is tinged with poker and a beer, but the point is that the best distraction can be life in the immediate. I stopped and thought about where I was and realized, despite all the other stuff I was worried about that the moment I was in was damn near perfect. It would have been a shame to have missed it. An oversight like that could have cost me in a lot of different ways. This makes sense to me~
